Checklist for Entering Students

This page contains important dates as well as the links you need to complete various tasks. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions section before proceeding. You will find information about Registering for Orientation; Placement Exams; Changing your Major; Receiving your Course Schedule; Transportation; What to Bring to Campus; and More.

May/June 2009:

  • May 1: Deadline for Deposit
  • Register for Orientation (Beginning May 8)
  • Should you choose to stay over, we have assembled a list of Area Hotels/Motels and a Travel Information guide
  • May 8: First day to take your mandatory Online Placement Tests and Surveys.
    All tests and surveys must be completed by June 7th, so consider taking yours in early May
  • Attend your One-Day Freshmen Orientation on May 29th, 30th, 31st, June 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th. You will receive your schedule for the day at the Registration Check-In Desk
  • June 7: Deadline for all entering students to complete the following online tests and forms
    • Placement Exams (Foreign Language and Mathematics) and Course Selection Questionnaire
    • Special Interest Housing Application
    • Complete the Post-Orientation Survey after your May 29th, 30th, 31st, June 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th Orientation Day
    • "Enroll Now/Access eBill"

July 2009:

  • "Enroll Now/Access eBill" by July 10 to receive your Fall 2009 bill.
  • July 20: Commuters: Apply for your parking permit online. Permits can be picked up on or after August 30th in the Office of Safety and Security. You will need to bring a photocopy of both your driver license and car registration.

August 2009:

  • 3rd Week of August:
    • Residents: Contact your roommate(s) to discuss living arrangements
  • Final Week of August:
    • August 29: Move-In Day & Start of Welcome Week (All Entering Freshmen and Transfers)
    • August 29 - September 5: Welcome Week
    • August 29: ResNet SWAT Tour in the Performing Arts Room
    • August 30: Welcome Week MANDATORY Academic Orientation and Transfer Orientation continues
    • August 30: Commuters: Parking Permits are available for pick up in the Office of Safety and Security. You will need to bring a photocopy of both your driver license and car registration
    • August 30 - September 2: ResNet SWAT Tour in the Alumni Reading Room, 3rd floor of the library
    • August 31: First Day of Classes
