The Marist College Medal of Science & Health was established in 2003 to recognize outstanding science students at several high schools in the mid-Hudson River Valley. Each spring, faculty and administrators at each high school are asked to identify a member of the junior class who has earned the highest 3-year average in science and math, and has a record of demonstrated or documented service in the local health care community.
In addition to receiving a high-quality medal inscribed with her/his name, each awardee also is promised a $10,000 annual scholarship if they are admitted to and attend Marist College, and major in one of the disciplines offered by the School of Science. The scholarship is renewable contingent upon the student remaining a major in the School of Science. Children of full-time Marist employees are ineligible for the scholarship but remain eligible for the award.
