The purpose of the orientation is to introduce you to the virtual environment and show you how to navigate successfully through your online course. Marist online courses are taught using a course management system called iLearn. If you have not used the iLearn system before, orientation is mandatory. If you have attended orientation before or have taken an online course at Marist that used iLearn, click here for a waiver.
Marist College is phasing in a new web-based "collaborative learning environment" called iLearn (Innovative Learning Environment and Research Network) which is designed to support different types of instruction (e.g. fully online, hybrid, face-to-face). The system provides a range of communication and information management tools designed to facilitate interactions with course content, your instructor and peers.
You will need your Marist account prior to accessing your online course.
10 minutes prior to your scheduled orientation session, follow the link provided in the confirmation invite email message to sign in and access the session.
Note: If you do not have your confirmation invite email message, you can go to the iLinc Public Events page Click on the Join tab on top of the page. Then, click the Join link (on the right) for the appropriate session.
