The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies presents Krisanna Scheiter, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Union College. Dr. Scheiter will speak on "Honor, Worth,, and Justified Revenge in Aristotle."
Scheiter specializes in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. Her research focuses on Plato and Aristotle’s accounts of emotion, desire, imagination, and thinking as well as Aristotle’s account of anger and revenge. Her work has been published in Phronesis and recently she served as guest editor for a volume in Philosophia entitled Ethics of Forgiveness and Revenge. In 2015 she received a Loeb Classical Library Foundation Fellowship for her project on virtue and vengeance in Aristotle. Before that she was the recipient of the John D. MacArthur Assistant Professorship at Union College.
