Marist-LdM will assist students with every phase of their experience abroad, from pre-departure orientation to transition in Florence to academic and social suport. Upon arrival in Florence, students are offered an array of activities designed to help them maximize their time in Italy while ensuring that they excel academically.
Marist-LdM residence life staff work to foster community development among the residents, including the assimilation of international students studying in the Marist-LdM program. Resident Directors will host weekly programs in the residence, bringing in guests such as local cooking and dance instructors. Programs are designed to give students tools to assist with adaptation to Florence, grow personally, excel academically, and have fun. Together students and residence life staff form a social support network that becomes the backbone of the experience.
Marist-LdM facilitates housing, residence life programming, clubs, and activities to ensure that students have a well-rounded experience. In an effort to connect the Marist Campus in Poughkeepsie, NY to the Florence Campus, faculty guest lecturers from Poughkeepsie travel to Florence to meet with students and host a series of workshops and lectures.
Study abroad students and Florence Freshman Experience students will receive additional assistance with transition back to their home campus upon completion of the study abroad experience.
