Victoria Mullen

Victoria Mullen was appointed Director of Institutional Research and Planning in January 2004. Starting in the Office of Human Resources in 1988 as Coordinator of Computerized Records, she maintained the Human Resources database and later held a pivotal role in the implementation of the Human Resource System (HRS). After moving to the Coordinator of Financial Records position in the Business Office, she was a member of the Financial Records System (FRS) implementation team and was team leader for the implementation of the College report writing tool (FOCUS). Vicki served as Budget/Financial Analyst from 1992 to 2000 when she was appointed Director of Budget and Payroll Services. Vicki has extensive knowledge of administrative computing systems as well as planning and budgeting processes. She has provided support for strategic planning initiatives and worked closely with the Office of Institutional Research and Planning in the past to develop information for numerous reports and surveys. She has also taught courses in computer applications as an adjunct faculty member.

The Office of Institutional Research and Planning serves the Marist community by collecting, archiving, analyzing, and reporting consistent and accurate data to facilitate planning and management decision-making and assists in the assessment of institutional effectiveness, compliance requirements, and student learning. The Office:

  1. Provides relevant, timely and accurate institutional information to college administrators and the college community, the external community, and external agencies.
  2. Collects, prepares and maintains statistical data and prepares periodic reports related to enrollment, matriculation, assessment, evaluation, demographics, student outcomes and other related measures.
  3. Coordinates the collection of data for statutory reporting requirements.
  4. Ensures that all state and federal reports are submitted in a timely fashion by establishing and maintaining a reports management system.
  5. Supports and integrates college planning efforts at all levels with institutional research, policy analysis, and outcomes assessment.
  6. Provides consultation, support and technical assistance to departments and individuals.

Vicki received her bachelor's degree in Accounting from SUNY New Paltz and her M.B.A. degree with a concentration in information systems from Marist College. She has completed the course work and comprehensive exams for a Ph.D. in educational administration and policy studies at the University at Albany and is currently working on her dissertation.
